Well I'm about ready to start my transmission , rear end swap in my 53 1/2 ton. {saginaw 4 speed, 64 chev 1/2 reae end} My question is does anybody know od a drive shaft that would fit in?After buying a patricks shifter and all tha other odds and ends, I'm looking to save a little money. If andbody has done this switch and found a drive line that fits, thaty would be great. Of course there's always the problem of finding that particular driveline, but you never know. thanks joethehuman

Any machine shop can re-do your drive line to fit the 53...lots cheaper than buying new.......

Hey Joe a friend of mine just had one shortened for way less than $100. The shop that did it is in Kingston, so if you don't mind a short ferry ride you should be able to get yours done cheap too.

You're looking for RustedNuts, another member here, and a Kingston WA resident.

Thanks for the information. All I need now is a driveline to shorten. I suppose any 60 -66 1/2 ton would be a good candidate.Would it have to be a 1/2 ton?
