I am a brand new guy to this site but been working on trucks for a good while.I am about to jump in on a project I haven't seen done.I have a 98 camaro with a 3800 buick engine I want to put in my 50 gmc. I have had several of these engines in FWD cars and I love them good power,great fuel milage and they run forever.I am building this for a shop truck/daily driver and I wan't to build something I can afford to drive with this 3.00pr gallon gas.I have been reading some of these forums and some of you guys get in to some pretty high tech stuff.Anyone got any info from personal experience or otherwise.Lookin for some help. thanks | | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 | I bought the TPI and TBI Swap book from Jags that Run recently and am finding a lot of good information in that book, though its specific to Chevy motors it would help sort out many of the issues. I've got a couple other books on Chevy EFI and plan to buy the factory service manual for my EFI donor.
Thats the extent of my relevant experience, I've not done an EFI swap yet. I'm researching planning to swap a TBI 454 in a '54 GMC 1-ton. I'll have more experience in the future...
