Is there a less expensive source for DA paper than a local paint shops. Is there an online source that's good?

Googling "dual action sandpaper" would probably get you what you want to know.

I just noticed Eastwood has DA paper. 25 sheets for $13.00, I'm sure it's imported. I don't know the quality but would assume it might not be too bad. ohwell

ya know, that gritty stuff with the dual actions: takes cash outta yer pocket and paint off yer truck eek

DA paper is what fits whichever kind of DA sander you have, commonly 6" using sticky back discs .... every parts store in this town has it by the piece, in packs, and in bulk rolls, not all that spendy

Harbor Freight has it, its junk but its cheap, too. It loses grit pretty fast but if you don't care about that its very cheap.

I've been using Klingspor sandpaper for my woodworking projects for many many years now, and I love the stuff. I dont know about less expensive but if you dont like changing sandpaper all the time this is the way to go. It has a cloth backing so it lasts and lasts. Might cost a little more up front but when something lasts as long as this stuff and you dont have to keep changing paper all the time I think your way ahead in the long run.

klingspor

Hope this helps, Paul

I usually just grab mine from work. Unfortunately, we don't have any of the "cheap stuff". The cheapest sticky paper, as opposed to either hook it or hook it II, is about $25 my cost. Just imagine what the people that walk in off the street pay!!

I do have a bunch of the cheap stuff left over in my garage. Personally, I'd rather pay a little more for better quality. It gets annoying when you constantly have to stop and change paper b/c you just keep burning through it.

I agree with you Chevy-Jenny. I would rather pay a little more for better paper. It lasts longer and will actually cost less in the long run. I tried some cheap stuff from Harbor Freight and the abrasive wore off really fast. I bought some 3-M paper from a friend with a body shop & it cost a little more but lasts a lot longer.

Napa has 10 packs for about $4-5 if you only need a little. Otherwise, no, hit the paint store and get some 3M rolls
