I have the 305 mocked up in the engine compartment of my '49 1/2 ton with stock suspension. I read in one post here that the motor will end up sitting very low between the frame rails. It seems to fit so low that almost half of the fan is below the radiator. I considered trimming the firewall then modifying the floor with a more pronounced hump, but I would only gain about four inches til I was into the seat. The other option is an electric fan, which I am strongly against for appearance sake. Can someone please chime in with some input and or pics.
