Old plugs were R45T AC Delco. All I could find quickly was a set of R45 Delcos. The R45's use a compression ring at the base and have 13/16" lug as opposed to the 5/8" that came out of there. The new ones fit fine, and I gapped them appropriatly. However they seem to be a little "shorter" in terms of what is exposed on the INSIDE of the head (in the combustion chamber). Am I looking for trouble with these plugs? | | |

The T indicates a tapered seat on the plug.
These were used in later V-8's (somewhere in the early '70's Chevy changed from the flat seat with the copper gasket to the tapered seat w/o gasket)
Sounds like the old plugs may have been incorrect for the 235. The R45's are the right ones.
