Approximately what should I expect to pay to have a 47-53 Chevrolet grill chromed. The grill is straight and was originally painted not chromed.
Thanks, Jason

A chrome shop in the northeast gave me a ball park quote of $80-$100 per bar for the job, they would rework the dents. They were at one of the larger car shows last August. So five bars - $400-$500. Never pursued it because I decided to go with a painted grill as original for 53, the chrome was not available that year.

Thanks Mike,
It sounds like if you want a chrome grill you are almost better of buying a new one.

Jason,
I have not looked at the reproduction grills. I have heard of problems fitting them, and the quality of the underlying metal and the chrome job. I am sure there are others on the list that have got experience with them.
Good Luck!
Mike
