If you join the Vintage Chevrolet Club of American we have a guy that does Carb rebuilds and runs them on an engine before he returns them to you. Look up "Chip" Sweet. He knows his Carter Carbs.

Thanks 35 T, I'm a pretty good wrench, but I'm not at all ignoring the value of an expert "old Carter" guy like Chip. Thanks for the tip. At this point I think I'll tear the carb down to clean it up prior to firing up the old Bolt for the first time in 35 years. I do not know if the engine is any good at all yet, so a pro rebuild of the carb would be a waste until I prove that. I would put a kit in the carb if I could find one, but if not I'll make the gaskets and do with a de-gunking. Thanks, TerryJ

Be real careful with the carb teardown they break very easily.

The Filling Station lists a kit and parts for that carb.
And yes, be careful that you don't break anything.

The only reason I recommened Chip is that he makes sure all the little vacuum and fuel internal passages are cleaned out also; in order to do that you have to remove the little rivet plugs. And he runs the carb on an engine to make sure it's perfect.
