I have finally re-united the cab and body on my '66 Fleetside today and I am disappointed with the closeness of the gap as it appears to be only about 1 inch.
Now, I was careful to tag and document the crossmembers so I know they were in the correct places and all the frame holes lined up when I eased the bed down.
My question is how do I improve this gap? While I didn't measure, I recall this gap to be maybe more like 2 inches.
thanks for the help on this.

Did you replace the cab mounts? It could be sagging in the back.

2 inches is a bit wide, I think.

Yes, cab mounts were new. I does look tight, expecially for a bumpy road.

I went out and measured the gap on my '70 stepside and it is 1 inch from the back of the cab to the edge of the top rails.
