Are the spare tire well fenders the same for a shortbed as well as a longbed? In other words are there any differences? Thanks.

Sorry to get elementary on you guys, but does anyone have a picture or specs on a side mount spare tire carrier for a 1950 chevy 3100. I bought one from a swapmeet and it does not line up with the holes in the bedrailes or running boards? I sure as h--l don't want to make any new holes.

help would be greatly appreciated....

I believe that the long beds didn't require a dimpled fender, as the had more space where the tire mounts.

A 1953 side-mount spare-tire carrier (first year it was an option on an Advance-Design truck) should fit your 1950 bed (the 54/55 will not attach correctly to an earlier bed rail).

The side-mount spare tire-carrier does not attach to the running boards - it attaches to the driver's side bed rail and to the bed side. A dimpled fender is needed on a 1/2 ton Chevy bed.

The truck I am talking about is a 1958 Apache 3100. I have a spart tire frnder from a 1957 3200. All of the fender holes line up great. I just want to be sure there is no difference before I go through the trouble of changing it over. Currently the 1958 has a complete under bed spare tire set up. Thanks Again.

If you decide to change out to the side mount, I'd be VERY interested in acquiring your underbed system. Can't seem to locate a dimpled fender around here. Let me know.
