Is a 4spd out of a 50's 1/2 ton the same as my 4spd in my 1950 3/4 ton?

It should be. I've seen the same tranny in the 1/2 ton to the 2 1/2 ton. If it is a 216 or 235, odds are it is the same 4 speed.

Rear output section may be a little different. Weren't the 1/2 tons enclosed driveline while the 3/4 tons were open driveline during these years? In any case the tranny should be the SM 420.

The 1/2 ton are enclosed driveline. However, the 3/4 ton are also enclosed but only half way back. From there to the differential, it is open.

Thanks for the help
