I was at Northern Tools today trying to buy an electric angle grinder. They told me they were getting out of the DeWalt and Milwaukee and only offering their house brand.

This is bad news in my opinion.

The (short term) good news is that in this particular store they were selling off thier Milwaukees and I got a heavy-duty 4.5" grinder for about 1/2 price ($50, model 6148).

They had other Milwaukees marked down similarly. I don't know how long they have been selling off these, but at this store, it looked like near the end.

When filling in the subject line on the Virtual Garage post, try to plan things out so you don't end up with the subject line saying:
"Northern Tools--house bra........."
That kind of wording excites too many of us older guys!

When able to choose I always choose Milwaukee. They must be moving the direction of Home Depot pushing their Ryobi brand tools. One power tool brand I'll never buy again is Chicago Electric. That is a piece of junk.
