Hey Alan,

I was looking at your project photos and noticed rust above the windshield.

How are you going to fix your cab above the inside and outside windshield ?

I have not got to the roof yet, but will be in a couple more months. I bought a roof off another truck from JIMBO, a good source for parts here on Stovebolt.I got the roof cut off through the windshield posts, door openings and through the back panel at the rear window opening. That way I got the entire inner & outer roof panels. The outer roof has a spot welded seam in the eyebrow above the windshield opening.I am going to drill out the spot welds and leave the upper outer roof on, then I will splice the inner roof panel in between the windshield opening and door openings. I will be posting pictures in my Photobucket as I do the work. You can buy new inner and outer roof panels, but its a lot cheaper to get a used one. If you have to do the same roof repair, I can post a couple pictures of the used roof and I can mark the roof where it will be cut so you can see what I am talking about.

So where can I buy those outer roof patch panels?

This is what I have to repair. It's not too severe but it is annoying to have to do it.

So, how did you ship parts from JIMBO to FL? Was it expensive? Just wondering in case I buy something from him and ship it to Calgary.

Thanks,
Zeke

You would have to buy the entire outer & inner roof if you go new. American Classic Truck has both, $250 for the outer & $209 for the inner. Thats why I bought the use roof. JIMBO shipped it DHL. I don't remember how much it was for shipping, but I think it was just under $200 for the roof and shipping. Your truck looks in pretty good shape. Rust in the usual spots. Your rt. fender looks like my left one did. I had to section the lower rear and the front above the headlamp because of a big dent.
I hope this info helps. Anytime I can help let me know. I don't know everything, but between everyone on Stovebolt you can find out anything you need.
