The block number is 3769716, which indicates a 58-62 235, yet on the pad where the captains bars would be for a 261, it has D261 cast into the block. I figured that meant it was a 261. Plus, i compared the rods to a picture i have and they appear to be 261. Is it a 235? Oh, It also has an "848" head that came with it, indicating its a 235. Are these "high" compression heads worth anything? THanks a lot.

a 30,000 mile UNMOLESTED original, now my daily driver! Original 6 cylinder with a rebuilt '66-'69 Saginaw 3-speed Overdrive. Synchro low! Otherwise, everything original down to the spare tire. Interior is like new. Needs paint, but absolutely zero rust.

D= April
26= 26th of month (April in this case)
1= year '61
It's a coincidence that it happens to read "261," and a confusing one!
As far as I know, the rods would look the same, but I'm not sure if they would be longer from 235-261. Hope this helps.
