Joe,you are not going to belive what I paid for this stuff,bought it as a lot.

Man, I gota find the "JUNKYARD" you shop at!!!! Nice find hope the price didn't put you in the poor house.

wasnt a junk yard but a guys collection.I got a hell of a deal on the stuff.

The fenton name on the headers is so much clearer than the current castings. You should use those to make new masters.

Jaime - I too fell into a couple of good deals in the past. I had a 261 racing engine given to me with a McGurk 3 x 1 intake and an original McGurk 3/4 race cam in it. I've had several other parts given to me and I have done some trading for some parts.

Bill - That has been my problem with reproduction Fenton headers for awhile now. Not only do they look bad, but the fit is just awful. On my engine build in the 90's, I just flat had to hang up the reproduction Fentons I was trying to use and get an original set to make the "bolt up" of the exhaust and intake work.

I tried to clean them up and make them shine a little. I went a bit too far.

Bill - I did see that post as you posted it. I don't think you went too far, but I do think you need to get a life and spend more time with the family!! All seriousness aside, they do look great!! It is definitely something to consider when I am in my next rebuilding phase! They remind me of some very old ones that I saw that were chromed. Of course, they turned colors of blue after running them. I'll bet the high heat coating makes them look like a million bucks! And the name FENTON is definitely more pronounced and cleaner looking.

Bill,if somebody remakes those headers(early design),it will not be from my set.I like having unique stuff and dont mind others having it also but they can get out there and hunt like I do.

I heard that Patrick Dykes is in financial trouble,which really sucks but one good thing can come out of it,chances that he will repo the Fenton valve cover is slim.

Point well made. I am with you on that. I would hate to see Charlie Price start reproducing the Edmunds valve cover.

But Guys, you know that the repro stuff never catches on like the original stuff, especially if the job is not clean, neat and JUST LIKE the old stuff!!!

I've got a limited amount of reproduction stuff, but I usually keep it only until I manage to find the original of that item. Then, I let the repro stuff go!

i have an edmund intake like yuors do you think i can bore it out to fit my 235 and do you think it will fit over a gm split manifold

Nice stuff. There are 2 reasons it would not work both of which can be overcome.

1. If the truck has a column shift 3 speed the linkage arms will interfere. This can be resolved by modifying the arms similar to this.

2. Too much carburetion or unmatched units resulting in the dreaded off idle bog and overall poor performance. Here’s some information on Rochester carb selection but Carter, Zenith, Stromberg, and Holley/Weber among others are alternatives.

Beautiful work on the inline Chevy. In my book nothing looks nicer than a well planned, well executed engine. Yours is a real show model to me. Congratulations on it.

How about the Harper that was three single intake legs that curved upward? They looked neat. I've seen several at Swap Meets.
