#3550 02/22/2002 12:15 AM | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 1 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 1 | I need help! We are trying to pull the harmonic balancer off a 261 and it won't budge. We tried a harmonic balancer puller and either the holes are not threaded or they have rusted out.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If they are really stripped, I guess you could redrill and thread for 7/16" bolts. Some guys drill and tap the nose of the crankshaft for a "security" bolt, but I  think you would have seen that. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 | My guess is that they are full of gunk. Clean them out good, solvent and a bottle brush. And, if someone has stripped the threads, tap the suckers.
