As most of you know, the inline 194-292 take the same motor mounts as the V8. However on the 292 again as most of you know, has the passenger side motor mount forward instead of across from the drivers side. The exact measurement is 3 3/4" forward. I have installed one in my 87 full size 4X4.....FINALLY! Hope to have it running this week. Also if you do this you might have to slot the motor mount holes, the rubber mount, up a bit to match up to the engine. I just thought I would share this info for those who need it. Otherwise everything else is pretty much straight forward. Also I had to slot the flexplate bolt holes to the converter. I went with 9.0:1 propane pistons for better compression, bored .040 over, balanced with a stock cam but had the head ported and polished plus MSD. Its better than going with larger valves or lump porting unless you want it for racing then do both. Should run really well. Eventually it will have cast iron headers into my 3" Magnaflow exhaust and a small 4bbl carb. Hooked to a 700R4 should get good mpgs for what it is and in. Hope this will help someone out there that needed this info. Nothing like the purr of the inline Chevy/GMC six.

Did you have to move the t-case and trans rearward?
Is the driver's side mount location the same as SBC? or did it go rearward?

Thinking about using my 194 in place of my 6.2 if it croaks.
