Just curious if anyone has tryed the manifold that has two carb bases and if so was it better.
I seen them in magazines but I'm curious if it would be any better/faster. I'm also confused on what you would do about the exhuast manifold. Mine is bolted to the stock intake.

Can you give us a little more information? Year, make, model, engine.

I have the Offy dual Rochester combo that I really like. Can't give you a lot of info on improvement because I rebuilt the engine and installed Isky cam, lifters and Clifford tube headers at the same time but I really like the combo. Visual appeal is great. I don't have intake heat which many here feel is mandatory but it's never been a problem. Kind of a warm weather driver only anyway.

I have the Offy manifold as well, with Fenton headers. I can't really say what difference it makes, but in general they say that headers will add up to 20% horsepower. I don't know what the manifold and the dual carbs would do, but it has to be better simply because of the better breathing and more even fuel distribution.

I was thinking of going with the offy manifold, running two single's with the linkage and running the fenton headers as well. I was just curious if i would notice an improvement overall and if the heat from the exhuast was gone would that make any driveablity problems?
I noticed that they offer the offy with the 4 barrel carb setup too like for a quadra jet but it looked too much to me.
I was thinking maybe it would be hard to keep the carbs in tune or something??

I have an Offy, I haven't installed it yet but it looks to me that it bolts up to the exhaust manifold in a regular manner providing intake heat. That connection is lost once you get certain headers.

In my case I had my stock exhaust manifold split into dual exhaust and the preheat setup will bolt up to the Offy in regular fashion.

I wonder if it will make a difference here in CA if you change the manifolds so the intake doesn't get heat anymore.

Like I said, I live in OK and don't really notice any problems. I did follow the article posted in the tech articles of inliners.org. Many people swear heat is mandatory. Talked to Patrick's trucks and he told me he has run for years without heat. He advised trimming power valve springs and bumping timing until throttle response is "crisp" and that when I was ready, the curve on a dual point would "really wake it up" I don't drive it enough to have real trouble and have been concentrating my efforts in other areas on the truck lately. patrick\'s trucks I post this for info on how to get ahold of him. He was a very nice guy willing to give great advice. I do not intend it as advertisment of his business. Wrestling with this dilemma as we speak. Correct me if I have crossed lines here.
