You can run it with out a filter as long as all the filter lines are plugged, and if you change the oil often. I'd install a by-pass filter myself. Even if it wasn't the original equipment type. The filters are cheaper and easier to replace that the cartrige ones. It works great!  unless you going for the original look. Let me know if ya want the part# for the braket. it's an after market part. | | |

The cannister is bolted to the intake manifold and the manifold is bolted to the block. The lines from the cannister go to the block. So is it logical to think the lines could be solid? Just a question.
