They were shorter in length for the same-size payload.

But for my project I felt the COE would be more difficult to access the engine for regular maintenance, like valve adjustments, So I decided a conventional cab truck would be more fun to play with.
For a second truck a COE would be nice...

Though lots of them were used as farm trucks, I always thought being shorter would be an advantage in a city where making sharp turns into ally ways might be required.
