Here are the problems I'm trying to figure out:
Steering box, Pump mounting brackets, belts/pulley?
There are kits to use a saginaw box from 70s chevy's. Also, someone used a box from a toyota land cruiser and fabbed a mount with 4" angle iron to put it in the STOCK LOCATION!!!! This seems the easiest as it doesn't require all the additional parts and cutting of the fender that the saginaw solution uses.
Mounting Brackets and pulleys are the real problem as far as I'm concerned. You need a belt to drive the pump and the crank pulley has room for only one.
The best solution I've heard of for this is the combination generator/power steering pump produced by GM in the 50s. The two use the same shaft and only one belt to drive them both. If you find one of those you could even add power brakes using a hyrdoboost pump, like the bigger trucks did in the early 50s.

I have a 65 4x that I am pretty sure is gonna have power steering when its all said and done yet I too have little knowledge of attempting and/or completing such a conversion.
