If you use these on the A.D. what do you do about the outside door handles? Also, what about security, are locking mechanism included?

I do not think the pull down handles will work with the bear claws but I have never looked at their function to confirm this. If you have the push button handles it will work fine. See my write up I posted previously to your initial thread on this subject.

If you have the pull down handles you may have to analyze how they operate to see if a way to activate the latch can be fabricated. None of these are true plug and play systems. You will have to "make" it work unless you plan to use door poppers.

As for security I am using the push forward feature of the inside door handle to lock my doors. Works just fine.

Molileortho: I'm putting bear claws in my 52 right now (my 52 has swing down handles from factory)I followed Houston54's write up but I put the pulley at the front of the door just above the top hinge (that's the real hard part) I modified the inside assembly by cutting the end and attaching a spring piece to it because I found the latch to touchy. I drilled a hole about half way down the arm to attach the cable and made an L piece to drop down in front of the inside assembly for power door lock because the bear claw lock wouldn't allow me to lock the door and close it. The outside handle shaft was cut to 1.25" squared and tapped for a 2.5" arm and a spring attached to keep the handle up. Hope this helps.
