Ive got a 36 chev pickup and im installing a mustang II front end. i have read up that there are different ways to mount the strut rod. My manual for my kit says to get stock strut rods attach them to the lower control arm and then mount the other end to the frame wherever it lines up. It does not mention at which angle, on top or below the frame or on the side. I have also read that welding it can be troublesome and it should be bolted.

anyone have any ideas? pics would be great!

Oh and I also saw some people heat up the strut rod and bend it somehow.

Where did you get the Mustang II kit? Those I've seen come with all parts needed. I got mine here:

Here's a pic of what the stock strut rod setup looked like:

And here's some shots of the Chassis Engineering strut rod mounts:

my heidts kit has strut rod eliminators on it.. but my binder has them...

they cut the far end (with the big round rubber bushings) and welded it to the frame.

Another quality post.

No, I am in the middle of installing the setup and haven't got around to putting the lower arm/strut rods on yet. the metal rod shown on the CE mount pictures go back and tie in near the center of the rear of the crossmember.

There's a lot of good info on hotrodders.com about the MII strut rods. But the picture of the stock Ford strut rod setup was what hit me the hardest. Theres a lot of structure on those strut rod mounts - not like the little weld-on brackets you see under a lot of street rods.
