Gentlemen,
I'm in need of a RH upper door hinge with the hold back spring.
The small pin that follows the hold back cam is broken off level with the hinge arm rendering the cam usless. This pin is harder than hammered H### and cannot be drilled out to replace it.
Ideas, other than replacing the hinge?
tks,
dg

I also had a hard time to drill out the pins. What worked for me was a little heat (slow not to much heat) from a gas torch, a good solid blow with a drift pin popped that imposible s.o.b ! out clean. As far as replacement parts they were cheap, and well worth it. The springs come in a kit and are installed on the top hinges only. Also cheap and well worth it. If you look at the the "Basics of Basic" hinge rebuild post in this forum by martinsr, (as I did) you should have all the answers you need to fix the ones you have.
