Does anybody here have a '55 or '56 Chevy 2nd series Suburban with the original seat material in it? I'm restoring a 55.2 burb and I'm having trouble finding the correct pattern for the vinyl. When I bought my burb it had the basket-weave pattern, which is from a GMC. I also have a sample that I cut out of a '58 Chevy burb, but I'm not sure if it is the same as a '55. A picture of the original pattern would be appreciated!

Thanks, George

Tom,

Thanks for the reply. I've been working with SMS for a long time trying to figure out the original material, but no luck so far. They can supply just about any material, but need to see a picture or a sample piece of fabric before they can track it down. I was hoping somebody here had a pic of the original vinyl, but that doesn't look too promising.

Thanks again, George

i still have 2 of my seats, they are very nasty, but there is some covering left on 1 of them. I will try to get a picture for you. BTW its like a textured surface, not smooth.

Did you get the pieces from 57Sub3100. I have all 3 rows of original seats for my 55 that were covered at one time. I know there are layers underneath and would be willing to look at those for you if you still need this information.
