He has a materials page, techniques page, gallery, and some links that you can go to for more information. I used this technique on a bumper and am quite pleased with the results. Good luck. The car only cost me $250, so any professional paint job would cost more than what it's worth. If it really looks good then I might think about rolling my 66 c10. Those sites are really helpful. Thanks for linking them. | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 345 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 345 | Well, you gotta love the sense of priorities here. Practice on the Benz so that you can get it right on the Chevy! (I eventually put leather over entire the dash, (which is another story but so far exceeds everything I was hoping for)
This worked great, I am going to try the tailgate which has some rust and needs to be repainted anyhow and if it looks good after the winter, I may try to decide to do the whole thing. The key is patience and prep... | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 267 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 267 | thanks joe that was the one goood grief that thing looks like a "joker thread" tom

I have a early 90's white GMC that is my daily driver and it has that white paint that flakes off. I cleaned and preped the surface and sprayed the rustoleum on my truck on my driveway. It sure isn't perfect but it looks way way better then the flaking off paint that was on it before. For a budget job I would do it again anyday! | | | | Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 4 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 4 | The Car Craft (or was it Hot Rod?) paint and body special issue has a story on painting a car with a roller. It was on the newsstand last week (haven't been back to check). Looked good in the mag, it's a cover story. Looks like a lots of 'extra' work (money or time you know) but if you had time and no cash looks like a viable option (I would still want to spray it as I have a couple old beat up spray guns). | | | | ZooKeeper Unregistered | ZooKeeper Unregistered | The Car Craft (or was it Hot Rod?) paint and body special issue has a story on painting a car with a roller. If you read the web page that is in the post you will know it started way before the magizine ever came out & I wouldn't be surprized if they stole the idea from that website...Joe | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,383 Ex Hall Monitor | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,383 | A guy I hung with back in college had a 53 Chevy that he painted with a whisk broom.

It went from a 20 footer to a solid 1 footer....it is nowhere near a custom paint job but I am happy with the results and glad I did it. There are a few pictures of the fenders on my link below..I guess I should take a few more of the finished job...I will do that and post over the weekend.
