I want to install my 1971 Chevy body (C20, 2wd) on my 1986 GMC frame (1500, 4x4, highly modified). I was told any 1970-72 cab & front clip would work. Can anyone confirm this installation? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Don't be surprised if small differences cause a lot of work. '73 and '87 are the same series and should be very similar.

That swap may have been done before and if someone here knows about it you will get some great info. But if not, measure, measure, measure. Also check with other sites.
