My Question is in regards to v8 engine mounts in 60's chev/gmc pickups.. Does anyone know of a website that posts diagrams for the mounts that bolt on the frame? Does any1 have the measurements them or offer any other suggestions on mounting a v8 in a formely thriftmaster truck.

Any reply would be greatly appreciated as this is my first build but not my last.

I'm not sure this will help. But in my younger days I took a 283 out of a 1960 Impala (side mounts)and put it in a 63 Impala 6 cyl.(side mounts). All I had to do was take the lower v8 mounts out of the 60 and bolt them in the 63. The mounts were bolted in on both and the holes were all their on both. I'm not sure if the trucks were the same.

In '60-'62 models, you need a "horse-shoe" mount (looks like a big "U" with a rubber mount on the bottom and two bolt holes at the end of each leg). It will mount in the center of the front engine crossmember and uses the (4) frount mount bosses on the SBC (one may have a bolt in it, it goes through to the fuel pump rod; make sure the bolt you use is not too long or it will interfere with it). On '63-'66 trucks, the side mounts are used.
I am talking strictly stock installations; there is no reason you can't weld or bolt-in a crossmember to support your engine.

Bosher: just get a chevy crossmember from one of our dealers. 50 to 70 dollars pretty easy to install I did have to cut 3/8" off of motor flange on crossmember to fit inside the 350 motor mount of motor. Sawzall 5 minutes they were cut.
