I need to install my new cam gear on my new cam. I placed the spacer ring and the thrust plate on the cam and then put the key in. Now the cam diameter is like .005 less than the diameter of the shaft. Any tips on getting the cam gear on? Can i just press it on or should i heat the hell out of it?

pork- I say both heat it, then press it on. That's what I did with the cam gear on my 292. 4+ months and no problems. -ftyler | | |

Stock and loveing it.

I think since I don't have access to a press that I will try sticking the cam in the freezer overnite and I will boil/bake the gear and try and pound it on. I'll let you know how i do!
