help does any one know if there is a univeral joint made to adapt a 85 s10 drive shaft to a 72 nova rear end carquest part # 3-3140 is very very close but alas not right this is the missing part of my 51 3100 small block and auto swap

I've always gone to the parts store with the dimensions and they looked in the books and found one.

AFAIK, the 4 spider ends have to be the same diameter and the size 'across' the spide must be the same for both sides of the U-joint.

If not, you need to get a U-joint that fits the read end, and have a driveshaft shop add that end to the S-10 driveshaft.

Actually, there is such a thing as a "conversion joint" that will have two different diameters or widths, depending on your need. Any good driveline shop will know............Might cost you $20-$25 for one U-Joint though .
I had to get one when I had a '68 Chevelle w/factory 4spd. I put an M-22 in it (Saginaw 4 spds are WEAK) and they use a larger slip yoke (same as TH-400), so a conversion joint solved the problem.
Also, some F O R D's actually came stock with "goofy" U-Joints like that............typical "Blue Oval" engineering :rolleyes: :p
