Is this true, and if so what's the difference? It would suck if I'm limited to searching for new doors that are specific to a single year. :-(

The door panel used on 72 is a formed plastic, earlier ones were metal. So, the window crank & door handle stick out farther & the panel secure w/clips instead of screws. Also a screw was added just below the vent window to hold the inner & outer door panels together. | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 | Thanks for the great info. [/b]Oh yeah, they interchange | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 | Now I'm more confused than before. They interchange but they're different? Whaaa? Will the '72 door panels work on an earlier door? I don't want to get into mixing and matching interior parts from different years. Not looking for a concourse restoration -- just simplicity for my own mental health. :-) | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 | The doors will swap from truck to truck but won't be "correct", the panels won't interchange between doors w/o mods & swapping the window regualtors & door controls. | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 | Thanks for the clarification. Guess for now I'll stick to looking for a decent pair of '72 doors to keep things simple. | | |
