If so, how do you "crimp" them in place without destroying the new channel. I removed all the clips and they are all in good shape, just wondering if I need to bother, or if the inside window frame and the channel screws are enough to hold the new channel in place.

small screws can damage or bind the frame of the window. Use a small dab of silicone in 1 inch increments around the weatherstrip this is enough to hold it in place. | | |
