Justin fixed the problems associated with a previous restoration in which I had requested a 12v conversion which didn't happen. Justin kept me informed of the progress of the conversion by email and phone calls. The turn around was very good (one week vs. almost 8 months at the other shop). Everything I've ever seen on these says that this radio is supposed to be to the left of the steering column, which is fine with me. Plus there seems to me no other option with this narrow cab.
You so kindly sent me pics of the long support bracket, now I'm attempting to figure out just how that fits my truck. I'm planning a similar bracket that will extend from the left side of the dash on a diagonal out to the firewall center. This bracket's only job is to suspend the radio at the back.
Just wanted to know if you have gotten around to installing yours and just how you mounted that long bracket.

Glad you had a good experience with Justin. Hopefully, I'll be mounting my radio towards the end of this week although I thought that several months ago. When it gets done I'll send you some photo links. You are correct in that there is no other option for mounting the radio - to the right of the steering column you have the shifter, hand brake, vent lever and heater.

The internal speaker was replaced with a new one of about the same size. Not to be coy but it sounds like an old A.M. radio to me. The tone is pretty good meaning that deeper is better for me as I'm about as deaf as a rock.
Dan - Don't look too closely, pictures can be real deceiving. I'm trying to do the best I can with the cards that were dealt. Thanks for the kind compliment though.

Justin talked me into a 6"x9" speaker and I'm very happy with it, puts out very good sound. Only issue was finding a place to mount this larger than stock speaker. I've decided to park this speaker on top of the original brace that runs from dash to firewall, will be up out of the way. I can send some pics if you want.
I guess I'd better get the lead out and hook up with a posting service.
