Petmil,
to search on Ebay, go to Ebay Motors, Parts & Accessories and then Vintage Car and Truck. I would try "1954 truck radio" or " 54 truck radio". You might also try the search without the vintage car and truck category.

Since the cost of an old AM radio is so high
I would be tempted to check these guys out.

If you want to search eBay for 1954 truck radios, this search works pretty well (don't specify trucks, because often that word is not used a seller):

(1954, '54, 54) chev* radio

1953/53 manual-tune automobile radios can be easily adapted use in a truck (however, the truck dial is rectangular while the auto dial has more rounded corners). A speaker plate and mounting brackets are needed for use on a truck.

(1953, 53, '53, 1954, '54, 54) chev* radio
