At the moment there is a restored orig radio on e-bay. Its at 56 bucks at the moment. If intrested look for item 4614868053 under vintage, then 55-59 chev truck parts. Hope this helps... It has about two days to run.

How you get there is more important than when!

I think that item may be the Chevy auto radio. I have a similar one and mine is six volt. Also, I would not expect it to work as the seller was careful to point out that someone else tested it out ten years ago.

You seem to know much about these radios.
Are the 1954 & 1955-59 GMC radios interchangable?

well if MT sez it fits all, then it must, he knows his parts, and it does look like the one - the 6V - 12V thing would be the rub, but they can be converted - make it kinda spendy to pay what that one would bring and then convert it, but it could be run w/ the voltage reducer too

Right On Red 58.

We keep all our stuff original.
Looks like this radio will be in our " Big Red Machine " scooter hauler.

--------

The reason we ask for a LINK to a picture (rather than posting the image itself):

1) it affects our bandwidth (which is costly)
2) it makes the page download slower (which really affects people on dial-up, and we've got a lot of them)
3) some European users have to "pay by the byte" (and we don't want to do that to them ... especially after they've seen the image once already!)

And a side benefit -- you can post a link to as big a picture as you like and it won't affect the rest of the posts in that thread!

Thanks,
Peg
