For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 866 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 866 | Our bed board bolts and angle strip bolts don't line straight up on the bed. It was this way when we bought our 53 half ton. It doesn't matter if I move the cross sills or not. The bed strips and the angle strips were with the truck when we purchased it. If I move the bed strips to get the bolts to line up straight, the strip hits the tailgate. Could it be the angle strips were installed incorrectly by the previous owner, or I have the wrong bed strips. Both are in good condition, so I would rather not replace either I have noticed other pickups with the same problem on ebay. But most seem to match up in a straight line. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | maybe they're switched side to side? try measuring from the end bolt holes to the front panel and tail gate and see if they're identical

I think maybe the angle strips were put on incorrectly by the previous owner. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 406 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 406 | Coach-frank: Have you figured out what was wrong? You are correct in that a lot of people install these angles wrong and it really confuses the picture. We have angle strip installation instructions on the Mar-K website, but if you have incorrect parts, it just won't work right. Please post back if you are still having trouble.
