Hi, new to the forums and if I missed the intro section I appologize in advance. Awesome site!!

I'm getting ready to cut new bed wood for my 52 (I think) bed. I'm cutting it out of Hickory and finishing it clear. I think it will look pretty swanky. Going to do black strips over that with stainless bolts. Anyway...

I was wondering if any of you have the exact measurements of the wood as far as width. It's an 8 board bed. The old wood in this one was totally shot. I have the dimensions for a 9 board but those obviously won't work. Any help will be appreciated...

Are those dimensions bottom I guess? In other words, the 5" boards have 3.5" on top between the strips?

Yes, those are the widths of the boards not the width of the notched portion of the boards.
