I just bought a 1950 3100 this weekend. There is what looks like a piece of a pallet end with nails still in it holding up the front end of the bed.

The PO told me it was "original oak". What is supposed to be here to hold the bed up from the frame?

I have a picture of it but haven't posted it onto my website yet.

You can get mounting blocks from any vendor. Check out American Classic, Jim Carter or Chevy Duty. All should have the wood blocks to mount your bed.

We manufacture wood blocks and pads for most trucks http://www.mar-k.com/cross_sills___rear_cross_sills.pdf Material is either maple or poplar. Most vendors carry ours or similar. You really need to get the correct size and design installed to properly support the bed. Let us know if we can help
