i'm looking to find out what motor is in my 1,1/2 ton? a straight six, casting #3851659, spin on oil filter (front right), dist. closer to front than fuel pump(pump in middle) timing mark on pulley, paper air filter.

63 or newer 292 truck engine . . . good motor, can be made even better with a little head work, intake and exhaust manifolds and cam. Can be built to be a torque monster for hauling or be made produce power all the way to 7000 rpms. Several vintage racers / drag cars turn in the 10's with that motor. smile
