I've been advised that if I buy one from one of the catalog companies I need to beware that they are often just "prettied up" but the throttle shaft boring and gasket surface may not have been rebuilt. Anyone have a good experience buying a new/rebuilt carb from someone?? | | |

It was very clean but the air horn had been beaten up really bad from a previous owner probably with a stuck float. The main jet that came in it was way too big and had to be swapped out. Unless your carburetor has a problem I would keep it and order a kit. Have a old local mechanic dip it and rebuild it if you are not comfortable doing so yourself. You'll probably come out cheaper too.

The guy I got the original info from at the old trucks group had no luck either. I sent a letter today to his snail mail address, I'll post when or if they reply.
