WHEN I OPEN THE PASSENGER DOOR OF A 52 3100 , IT DROPS DOWN AFTER OPENING ABOUT 12 INCHES. IT SEEMS THE HINGES ARE TIGHT, SO BEFORE I GO GETTING INTO TROUBLE DOES ANYONE HAVE A SUGGSETION AS TO WHAT THE CAUSE MIGHT BE. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

12 inches? Are the hinges attached to anything?

Ok, let's assume you meant 1 inch and change... is there significant rust damage to the cowl and/or toeboard? If the floor is rotten, there's nothing to hold the shape of the cowl when the doors are open.

edit: It occurred to me that your hinges could be worn unevenly, so that the pins have flat spots or the holes they ride in are elongated. Try lifting the door when fully open and almost closed to see if there's a difference.

His post said the droops after he opens it about 12" wide.

I would make sure the hinge bolts are all tight, first. If that doesn't do it, you probably need to rebuild to rebuild your hinges with new bushings and pins. It is a relatively easy job.
