The spark plugs I bought were the standard size for a 68 250. They screwed in normally, until I tried to put a socket on them. The socket (all that I tried) wouldn't fit deep enough to tighten the plugs. They are blocked by the heads side walls. Is there a diffent style socket I should use, ie. narrower profile? Or do I have to find a different style plug that has a higher nut?

Got a bench grinder? Carefully grind down the outside of a cheap sparkplug or other deep socket to clearance around the head.
