The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop T-5 crossmember

I am going to have to change my crossmember to install new T-5, or at least do alot of modifing. My qustion is, does a auto trans, and T-5 share the same tail shaft trans mount. The reason I ask is I'm looking at buying a new cross member from , "classic performance", they say it will fit my style truck w/ 350 tranny, it apears to be adjustable, some, to help fit a tappered frame, I suppose. I just wanted some input on whether the tranny mount would fit. Don

I seem to recall reading some discussion about whether you want a trans crossmember when you have the original front/back mounting of an inline. Something about too much stress on either the rear motor crossmember or the trans crossmember.
