This maybe a very easy question but I just ordered an edelbrock intake for my 350 and was wondering what the hole beside where the carburetor mounts is. It is open to flow of water and I think it might be where the automatic choke goes. The type that uses two dissimilar metal to accuate the choke. Since I'm using an electric choke what can I use to block the hole off. There is two bolts. One on each side.

Could you give the model number of the intake manifold? Also, where around the carburetor is this hole(s)? The front, rear, side? If its open to water and you want to block it off, if thats ok to do, just get some square head bolts, and pipe tape or glue, and screw them in nice and snug.

On our edelbrock intake manilfold, I do know theres a hole behind the carburetor, and its a vacumm line that goes to the tranny.

But for better help, please post the model number of the intake manifold.

Sorry for the lack of information. It is an edelbrock 2101 performer. If you are sitting in the truck it would be on the right side. On my stock manifold it has something similar there but it is not open to a water jacket.

Could you tell me if what I need is the edelbrock choke block off plate #8901. I did some checking on the internet and this all I could come up with.

Its for a choke heater. It goes into the exhaust crossover. You need a block off plate & gasket or you can make one. I thought one came with the manifold.

Hi, I did some research too. If your intake manifold is like the ont below, than it does require a plate and gasket, which I believe is an Edlebrock #8901, which is located in "This Picture"
