When the parts store told me it would be while, I didn't believe them. They're being rationed. I found this on the web http://www.camcraftcams.com/Archives/monthlynews0602.htm So 2 of the 3 players are out of it. My machine shop tells me that all the machinery to make flat tappets is old and wearing out and nobody wants to invest in new machinery. This sounds a little odd? Is the machinery that specialized? Ken? Should we start hording lifters? I don't think they will make roller cams for a 216. Can anyone shed more light on this subject? | | |

1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.

He said I was lucky he had them on hand because the only way his suppliers are selling them now are with the purchase of a new cam - they won't sell the lifters separately.
Think I'll keep the ones I'm taking out - may be a market for them before long.
