#30358 07/27/2004 8:21 PM | Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 7 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 7 | i was wondering what other engines have the same engine mount paterns, and bell housing patterns as a 248/288/316? i recently purchesed a 1955 GMC 2nd series 3/4 ton truck. it was an original v-8 but now has a correct year 248 inliner. i am interested in putting a newer olds/pont (57- 65) in it.

From the looks of it a 400/455 should mate up, if you use the original bellhousing. You may need to grind a little on the front mount, due to balancer clearance.
