I think they have 15" 6 lug, with 5 1/2" spacing? I'm looking at a good deal on wheels and rims (badly needed). Problem: The wheels are 16", P235/75R16. Will these work?

Others will chime in with more specifics, but yes, that wheel and tire combo should work A O.K. on your rig. 16" wheels were original on these rigs up until '54, I believe, when 15" wheels became optional. Most important thing will be to be careful with the wheel backspacing, you might run into interferance with your tie rod ends. If you can try one of the new wheels on for size on the front (before you buy), this will let you know right away if they will fit. Hope this helps. Regards, Wannabe

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 130 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 130 | hello tater. the tire size you asked about [235/75/16] is the same size as the new size on my 99 silverado. it rang a bell because in 99 i could not find snow tires as the size was so new. even goodyear did not have a snow tire the same size at that time. i was always curious to see if the silverado wheels would work on my 55 first series. so i guess i would ask if those wheels are similar to what you are looking to buy? if so i will be willing to try them on my truck before you buy them, that is i will take the spare from the silverado and try it on the ad truck. let us know if we are on the right track. good luck.
