#30174 05/19/2002 11:25 AM | Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 1,586 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 1,586 | Ok Fred, we all know relationships are difficult but......4 bbl carbs are rated for cfm at 1.5 Hg of pressure drop(vacuum)and 2 bbls are rated 3 Hg of pressure drop.To rate a 2 barrel the same as a 4 barrel a conversion factor of 1.414 can be used. So, for example,a Holley 500 cfm 2 bbl carb is 353 cfm if rated on a 4 bbl scale.The above information is from various carb tuning books. | | |

Continuous running of a stock 235 over 3,000 rpm is not recommended. I've had mine (with a 3/4 race cam) up to about 4,500, but only for a very brief period. If you have balanced rods & crank, electronic ignition, the right pistons and valve springs and a better damper, 6,000 is obtainable, but not recommended.
