Its a regular 1 cylinder, gasoline engine. Would the local machine shop be able to fix this? Or is there someting simple I can do to fix this? I tried rethreading the hole and the threads just broke off leaving a smooth hole. Any help or suggestions would be great, thanks! - Shane [email protected]

It would be helpful to your shop if you remove the head and just bring it to them. That way you don't get any metal filings in the cyl. I've done quite a few, takes about 15min. depending on the mood your machinist is in.

Check with Roy Boy's (near Washington Square), they have a good stock of parts.

The wierd thing about this rig is that it has a generator that acts as a starter and turns the motor over, and then has a coil out of a truck, has anyone ever seen anything like this? I wonder if someone added this all on, if not then I will remount everything so its hidden. Thanks for the help all, I will try to get pics of this thing sometime and maybe show everyone! - Shane [email protected]

You should take the head off to put the helicoil in (drill shavings) so why not replace the head.
