The gears look brand new. It is a 10 bolt not posi traction, so what is the normal gear ratio for these things? #29987 06/04/2003 4:56 PM | Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 962 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 962 | Poncho rears had an axle code stamped into axle tube (usually driver side). clean the gunk off and get the code, it'll tell what car, ring gear dia, & ratio was stock for that rear.
Assuming its a 10 bolt from a '69 GP, its likely a 8.5" and could have any common ratio (depending on carrier) between 3.08 to 3.70.
