| | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 12 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 12 | I hope this isn't too stupid of a question, but I've got a replacement set of rocker arms to install on a 1955 1st 235 truck. It does have hydraulic lifters and the books I have tell me that once the engine is a operating temp. to back the adjusters off until they raddle and then tighten them 1/4 at a time until 1 full turn is made.
What I don't know is how to adjust them at first when the engine's cold. Or if the 1 full turn is even correct

| | | | | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 | To get the engine started, with the cam setting so the valves for a cylinder closed, turn the adjuster to the point where the pushrod doesn't turn. The one full turn will work. Many people only go with 3/4 of a turn.
